Diaries, 1756-1777.

These diaries for the years 1756, 1757, 1762, 1763, 1769, and 1777, were evidently kept by Joseph Brewster of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. They contain line-a-day entries pertaining to sermons, local weather, births, marriages, and deaths, and important local events. Brewster seems to have been acquainted with Samuel Langdon and his wife, Elizabeth Whipple of Ipswich, Mass. The diary for 1756 is interleaved in Nathaniel Ames' Almanack... for 1756..., printed in Boston by J. Draper.
